Weekly Photo Challenge: Illuminate

What better illumination is there than that which comes from our God when we find ourselves in the dark are in need of light?

The Gospel Acclamation for the Liturgy this day is:

Light has arisen

Alleluia, alleluia.

The people who sit in darkness
have seen a great light,
on those dwelling in a land
overshadowed by death
light has arisen.

Alleluia, alleluia.

  1. Here in England at this dark time especially, those words ring incredibly clearly. I think that’s why Easter is such a triumph: it comes with the advent of our light, and the changing of our clocks back to Summertime hours. Our ritual echoes the natural year.

    • Yes. I imagine that the farther north one lives, the more stark that dark/light change of the seasons is. Blessings of the New Year to you. Thank you for your comment.
