Celebrating the Feast of Catherine of Siena – First Vespers

First Vespers are the Psalms that are recited in the evening before a feast. Tomorrow, April 29th is the Feast of St. Catherine of Siena. And April 28th just happens to be the anniversary of the day I made vows as a Dominican Sister of San Rafael . . . so this year I celebrate my 25th Jubilee. We (11 jubilations) celebrate Jubilee together as a community on July 24, 2021!

“All the way to heaven is heaven.”

We Need Conversion

To achieve such reconciliation, we must examine our lives and acknowledge the ways in which we have harmed God’s creation through or actions and our failure to act. We need to experience a conversion, or change of heart.

The “Thou” of All

Our openness to others, each of whom is a “thou” capable of knowing, loving and entering into dialogue, remains the source of our nobility as human persons . . . Our relationship with the environment can never be isolated from our relationship with others and with God.
