A good question. And isn’t it easy to get lost – to lose oneself in the mundane things of life, and forget what our ultimate quest is. You have included a great quote from a very wise man. I have studied the teachings of Sri Yogananda. His words have a ring of truth about them. I am going to write this one out and stick it where I can see it often. Thank you for the reminder.
You are welcome, Lizzie. Many years ago i learned to meditate through Yogananda’s teachings at Self Realization Fellowship. I have very fond memories, indeed! His words are similar to those of a wise Dominican mystic of the 14th century, Catherine of Siena: “All the way to heaven is heaven. Of course, I’ll always be quoting Dominicans. 😉 Blessings!
That’s wonderful!! I, too, learnt meditation through Yogananda’s teachings, with Self Realisation Fellowship. I was a student for nearly 4 years and then was initiated into Kriya yoga. He was an amazing person who truly knew God, and has left a wonderful legacy for the world through his teachings. Blessings.
As I looked at your photograph, I though of Jacob’s ladder and how God comes down to us. And so I thought “does my quest take me out of the world or deeper into the world? Am I trying to climb up or down?”

Thank you, John. May we always be nimble enough to change direction when we need to. A bit like hiking!
What a captivating picture, for a captivating question! Much to ponder. Thank you.
So glad you like it!
