Reminds me of the unbelieving and complaining dwarfs in The Last Battle by C.S Lewis. They were not able to see the truth they were living in and believed they still were in darkness when everyone around them were in the sunshine. And I agree, being thankful has nothing to do with circumstances, it is all about being allowed by grace into another way of valuing everything.
