On the Sixth Day of Christmas

srop_christmas_2008_015

I will light candles this Christmas
Candles of joy, despite all sadness,
Candles of home where despair keeps watch,
Candles of courage where fear is ever present,
Candles of peace for tempest-tossed days,
Candles of grace to ease heavy burdens,
Candles of love to inspire all my living,
Candles that will burn all the year long.

  1. Have loved reading these. When I was growing up my mother called January 6th “little Christmas” and we always got books on that day. She’d go through the 12 days th us. For some reason these posts of yours being it all to mind. Thank you.
