Wednesday of Hope – The Feast of St. Catherine of Siena

Door of the basilica San Domenico in Siena, Italy, where Catherine and her family worshipped.

Honor the tradition but expand the understanding. That’s what religions must do right now if they hope to be helpful to humans in the years ahead.

– Neale Donald Walsch, Tomorrow’s God

On this Feast of Catherine, we look back on her life in the 14th century, knowing that she would live differently in the 21st. And so we honor her life and tradition as we, too, desire to be of service to God’s people today . . . in hope for a tomorrow full of promise.
